The crown jewel of the Emerald Necklace, the Franklin Park Zoo, was so named for the endowment Benjamin Franklin left to the city of Boston, and today houses a wonderful collection of animals from zebra, giraffes, lions, to even the occasionally escaping gorilla or two.
